Class of 2000 | Inducted 2024
Julie first attended Navarro College in 1993. She completed the Navarro College LVN program in 1996, followed by the ADN program in 2000. In 2004, Julie was hired to teach in the Navarro College LVN program. In 2010, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree (BSN), summa cum laude, from UT Tyler. Julie then went on to earn her master’s degree of science in nursing education (MSN) from UT Arlington, as well as achieving National League for Nursing (NLN) certification as a nurse educator (CNE) in 2015. Shortly after earning her MSN, she accepted a faculty position in the Navarro College ADN program. She was awarded the ADN Outstanding Alumni Award in 2016. In 2021, Julie graduated from Northcentral University with her Doctorate in Nursing Education (EdD). She became the Program Director for Associate Degree Nursing in 2018. She played an integral role in the development of the RN-BSN program at Navarro College and became RN-BSN Program Director in 2022. Julie credits her Navarro College family for inspiring her to pursue a career in nursing education and helping her to recognize the importance of higher education.
