BOARD MEMBERS
ORIENTATION AND TRAINING
ORIENTATION
Each newly elected board member shall attend an orientation session within three months of taking the Oath of Office. This orientation session shall focus on the official roles and duties of the board members and shall provide training in the areas of budgeting, policy development, governance, and other areas as deemed appropriate.
TRAINING
Each Navarro College Board of Trustees member shall attend, during the member’s first two years of service, at least one training program established by the Coordinating Board. Trustees have an ongoing responsibility to the institution, communities and students they serve to actively build their competencies through professional development opportunities.
