PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Function within the legal and ethical parameters of the Registered Nurse in a variety
of health care settings.
2. Support standards of practice within legal, ethical, and the regulatory framework
of the professional nurse.
3. Demonstrate responsibility for continued competence in nursing practice and develop
insight through self-reflection and self-analysis.
4. Evaluate health assessment findings and recognizes comprehensive needs of patients
using holistic approach.
5. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in prioritizing the management
and coordination of all aspects of care.
6. Create individualized teaching plans for patients with complex health care needs
and mental health disorders to facilitate therapeutic communication, health promotion,
maintenance, and restoration.
7. Critique nursing judgement based on best evidence that integrates nursing science
in the provision of safe, quality care for patients with complex healthcare disorders.
8. Evaluate safety and quality of care to achieve positive patient outcomes.
9. Initiate the use of patient care technologies, information systems, and communication
skills that support safe nursing practice.
10. Synthesize safe, compassionate patient-centered care for culturally diverse patients
and families who are experiencing complex health care issues.
11. Integrate principles of teaching and learning in providing information to patients
and families regarding promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health and/or the
process of death and dying.
12. Demonstrate knowledge of basic leadership skills including delegation, supervision,
and prioritization.
